My paintings are a multi-dimensional representation of the world that I see and feel.
There may be obstacles in life, and some of that moves me to want to leave messages about it. But sometimes simple joy needs a signpost. I’m completely fulfilled spending my time endeavouring to give shape, colour and form to my passing visions of life. For me, the ancient cave paintings sum up what art is about. Created by people who didn’t know whether they’d be alive or dead by the end of the day, but who felt a deep need to make their mark.

I would like to dedicate the work on this website to two people who I believe had a huge influence on my creative development. When I was a kid in Liverpool, I was the school artist. I’d look at other kids filling page upon page with writing, but instead I would feel compelled to draw. Tony Davis was my art teacher, and his encouragement has stayed with me.

After leaving school I had to abandon my artistic ambition to enter the world of work.
It wasn’t until much later in life that I had the chance to enrol as a student at Cornwall College's art department in Camborne. It was there that I met Patrick Lowry,
who became my tutor, mentor and inspiration.
